Juvenile Class.

This class is the ideal starter for children.  We accept children from the age of three years.  Dance etiquette and manners, walking and moving beautifully will be an integral part of this class experience.

Preparatory Class

Preparatory is designed to develop the  strong technical foundation upon which future grades will be built.  Children will learn accurate placing of positions, good posture, how to jump safely, and to have the joy of movement.

Primary Class

Primary introduces combinations of steps requiring added co-ordination, free expressive movement, and further development of turn out and musicality.

This the first grade at which students  may enter for an examination. They are entered in groups of up to four children. This is a full examination without their teacher being present.

Grades 1 to 6 Classes

Students progress through each grade and are examined at each stage of their transition to IDTA standards.

Each ballet grade has accompanying theory which will be examined orally.   The theory is designed to build a glossary of ballet terms.  Classical ballet terms are French, making it a universal 'ballet language'.  Young children find it easier to learn their theory if helped by their parents
